Digital critter drawing out of watermarks

I’m often asked where I find my inspiration in

Well in what concerns my critters, the answer is easy: I find them in playful random made watercolor marks. I use a digital drawing app to outline the critters I see. It’s the same game as the one you may have played as a kid: finding figuration in clouds (remember?).

This Time-lapse video shows how a single watercolor background allows to create outstanding critters. Most of these figures I would never had come up with by doodling. An exiting & fun way to stimulate creativity!
